STATEMENT BY THE SPEAKER

The SPEAKER (10:44): Before members move, I'd like to give a short statement to the House. There are new locking mechanisms in the doors and they are closing slower than normal automatically. This is just information for members.

When I've given the instruction that the doors are to be locked, if a member is approaching any of the chambers and any of the doors here when the doors are closing, do not enter them. It doesn't mean you can slip in or get in there. It's just that, to assist with members entering and exiting the chamber, I have ensured that the doors are on a slower mechanism.

Moving forward—this is a new shift for the parliament—if a door is closing, that is not to be entered into. I thank members.
