CONSTITUENCY STATEMENTS

Mr KENNEDY (Cook) (09:59): I rise to congratulate seven outstanding local residents of the Cook community who received King's Birthday Honours. Mr Christopher McCormack AM has been recognised for service to triathlon and charity. Chris is a life member of the Cronulla Triathlon Club and is a two-time Ironman world champion, winning in 2007 and 2010.

He's a co-founder of Super Tri. Beyond competition, Chris founded the MaccaNOW Foundation, and co-founded and chairs the Pho3nix Foundation. His contribution extends far beyond this sport to our community, and I'll keep fighting for you, Chris, and the whole Cronulla Triathlon Club to ensure that club gets the best updated and upgraded facilities at Gunnamatta Bay Pavilion with the council.

Mr Malcolm Butterfield OAM of Cronulla has given more than 40 years to Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club, one of the oldest surf lifesaving clubs in the country. He's a life member, remains a junior coach and has served across numerous club committees. He's raised funds for Gotcha4Life, the McGrath Foundation and was a world champion in board paddling in 1990.

Congratulations, Malcolm. Mr Peter Clisdell OAM of Sylvania has made an enormous contribution to the strata industry. He helped establish Strata Community Association, later serving as its president, gave his time as a pro bono lecturer at strata management.

He also volunteers as an Angel Flight pilot helping people from regional communities travel for specialist medication, logging hundreds of hours of flight. Ms Marion Jones OAM, known locally as the 'cake lady', has devoted decades to decorative food arts. She served multiple terms as president of the Cake Decorators Association, led Cake and Sugar Artists of New South Wales for more than a decade, judged state and national competitions and founded the Cake and Sugar Art Museum and Gallery in 2001.

Mr James Maguire OAM of Sylvania has devoted decades to gymnastics and rugby league. He served as President of Gymnastics New South Wales and as a player and coach of Renown United Junior Rugby League Football Club. He has held longstanding roles supporting junior rugby league with Saint George and is a life member of both Gymnastics New South Wales and Renown United.

Mr Fergal Molloy ACM has had a 25-year career with Corrective Services New South Wales that has included frontline and specialist security roles including the extreme high-risk escort unit. His work has helped modernise and standardise security systems across New South Wales correctional services and improved safety for staff, inmates and the public. Congratulations, Fergal, and to all members who received these great honours.
