Ms LE (Fowler) (13:30): Canley Heights Cobras Football Club celebrated 80 years of football and community service this year. It's the oldest club in the southern districts region and the only local club to reach that milestone. Southern district is one of the largest football regions in New South Wales, with 36 clubs and more than 9,500 players.

This year, the club recognised its life members with legacy jackets. Those jackets carry the names of volunteers who gave decades of service, parents who turned up week after week and coaches who guided young people. Today, the Cobras field more than 250 registered players across nearly 20 teams—juniors and seniors, women's, mixed and competitive sides.

Their record on the park speaks for itself—seven minor premierships and four premierships over the past two seasons, with more than 70 per cent of the competitive teams reaching finals football. In 2025, the club stepped up again into the MDL competition and the New South Wales Champions of Champions. That is credit to the club president, Jason Piccinin, and his committee.

But the club's greatest achievement sits outside of the field. This is a more than just a football club; it's a community institution. In a community where most families speak a language other than English at home, this club is where young people find confidence, discipline and belonging.

It is where generations of families have never given up on one another. Congratulations to Canley Heights Cobras Football Club on 80 remarkable years. Here's to the next generation of Cobras!
