House of RepresentativesMonday 7 September 2026

DISTINGUISHED VISITORS

The SPEAKER (14:11): Before we begin question time, I'm pleased to inform the House that present in the southern gallery today are participants of the Australian Defence Force Parliamentary Program. Participants—including Captain Mile Madarac from the Royal Australian Navy, in my office—will spend the week experiencing daily life inside members' and senators' offices, sitting in on parliamentary and committee processes and observing how the legislation that impacts the defence force is debated and analysed.

The goal of this valuable program is to break down barriers, allowing politicians to understand the day-to-day realities of service members while giving the ADF insight into how the Australian government and its departments function. On behalf of the parliament, welcome to you all and thank you for your service. Honourable members: Hear, hear!
