STATEMENTS BY MEMBERS

Ms CAMPBELL (Moreton) (16:41): Ashley Hughes walked into a classroom where I was just last week on 1 September. She was dressed in a lab coat and talking about her future career in a way that only someone who was so passionate about it could. She was the winner at the St Thomas More Becoming M.O.R.E Awards.

This is a very special program. It empowers students to develop to develop their skills, their confidence and their aspirations through mentoring and personal growth. I want to congratulate each of the winners, Ashley, Dominic, Molly and Isabella, for all of their hard work in the program.

I also congratulate the college principal, Les Conroy, and Katherine Plowman, who organised the event, along with Taylor Mathieson. The Endeavour Foundation at Coopers Plains is more than a learning and lifestyle hub. It's a close-knit community of participants, families and carers.

They have an ethos that participants are encouraged to enjoy a different experience and to connect with each other. I had the absolute delight of visiting them on 3 September. While I was there, Jane showed us the wonderful photo wall through history; Philip spoke about their upcoming open day; and Giuseppe gave us a cracking tour of their immaculate garden.
