QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Senator LAMBIE (Tasmania) (14:28): My question is to the Minister representing the Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Senator McAllister. On 31 August 2026, the Minister for Veterans' Affairs released a media statement that said the proposed cap on allied health services wouldn't apply to veteran cardholders getting the special rate disability pension, the totally and permanently incapacitated pension or those who have been determined to be catastrophically injured.
It sounds good, but, without knowing how many veterans fall within these categories, it is impossible to understand how many veterans will be exempt. How many veterans are currently getting the special rate disability pension, the totally and permanently incapacitated pension or are determined to be catastrophically injured?
