MATTERS OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE

The SPEAKER (15:11): I have received a letter from the honourable member for Clark proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely: The urgent need for this Parliament to address the attitudes, behaviours and systems within Australian society that enable and perpetuate violence against women. I call upon those honourable members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
