QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Senator WONG (South Australia—Minister for Foreign Affairs and Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:55): Thank you, Senator Cadell, and you're right—in your question you referenced that there had also been meetings held with the Prime Minister. The government is listening, and you can see that by not only those meetings, obviously, but the changes that have been made.
I would again say—because I know there's been some misunderstanding of the $5,000 threshold—that those for whom it is still clinically necessary can continue to obtain those allied health services. But I acknowledge that is not how this has been, certainly, understood. Possibly, the process needs to be considered more carefully, and I think that's what the consultation process will do.
