Mr THOMPSON (Herbert) (13:57): 'If I don't get my physio treatment, my injuries get worse and, with that, my mental health. I already see a physio three times a week and a psychologist weekly. If I lose either or both of those treatments, I'll end up spiralling back to how I was when I first discharged.
I'll drink myself to death and my depression will end me.' These are the kinds of messages that I get. This prime minister has his priorities all wrong. He can find $6 million for his local golf club that he's a member of, but he will cut funding to veterans allied health care.
He finds $17 million for event management, $2 million for broadcasting, $2 million for resort— Mr Dreyfus interjecting— Mr THOMPSON: I'm happy to go to the member for Isaacs's electorate and debate him on veterans services in his RSL. You sit across there and say this is okay; you are a coward. Two million dollars for resort accommodation and $50 million to the Taliban—you welcomed the ISIS fighters back, yet this Labor government cuts funding to veterans services.
It is disgraceful. It is despicable. Cameron Baird's family got their travel cut.
Invictus Games—cut. All veterans medallic recognition stopped occurring until we got into the fight. Once again, this government is cutting funding to veterans allied health, and it should be ashamed.
