Mr LAXALE (Bennelong) (13:56): Today's reporting makes it crystal clear: the Plymouth Brethren went to extraordinary measures to disrupt and influence the 2025 federal election. The reporting leaves no doubt about their involvement. It names Brethren leaders involved.

It documents payments to people associated with Nazis, and it blows up all denials by the Brethren that they weren't involved. They were up to their eyeballs in it. Their actions go beyond what can be reasonably defended.

The Brethren undertook a coordinated, well-funded and secretive disruption of our free and fair election using known agitators and aggressors. They flocked polling booths across the country in numbers that left voters feeling intimidated and less likely to participate. Yet despite this not one single coalition MP has condemned the Brethren—not one.

Instead, seven of their best and brightest issued a joint statement calling an inquiry on these matters a 'witch-hunt'. The Liberal Party needs to explain why they describe the Brethren as a 'support group'. The Liberal Party needs to condemn the Brethren, who have been throwing cash around to upend our safe, free and fair elections.

And the Brethren need to fess up: to what extent were they involved? How much money did they spend, and what was the quid pro quo with the Liberals? Enough with the denials.

Australia needs answers.
