STATEMENTS BY MEMBERS

Ms CAMPBELL (Moreton) (16:22): Skilled Respected Equal—this is the grassroots campaign being run by members of the ASU. Those members are disability support workers, social workers, youth workers, financial counsellors, advocates and people who work with and for some of the most vulnerable Australians in this nation. They're our loved ones, our mums and dads, our neighbours and our work colleagues.

Their campaign is to get long-overdue changes that are about respect in the workplaces, recognition, fair pay, career pathways and job security. They're a critical part of our economy and of who we are as a country, and I was delighted to meet with them in regard to their campaign. This weekend my family and I got dizzy on the teacups.

We had lots of different foods from the multicultural food court, and we experienced a fantastic line dancing performance. We were at MacGregor State School, at Mac Fair. It's a real resurgence and a real return to form for Mac Fair, which had to shut down because of COVID and is now back in force in their second year.

I want to give a big shout-out to the P&C and their president, JD Gupta, as well as the principal and deputy principal, Lee and Gary, for an absolute cracker of a weekend that was enjoyed by all and brought our community together at a time where it's more important than ever.
