STATEMENTS BY MEMBERS

Ms LE (Fowler) (13:29): Earlier this month I had the honour and privilege of attending the Father's Day Zabava with AHFG Lindo at King Tom Club in Edensor Park in my electorate of Fowler. We were there as a community to gather to pay tribute to a great man, George Franulović, who marked 40 years of dedicated service to the Australian Croatian Folklore Group Lindo .

It was a surprise party for George; his community didn't let him know that they were there to pay tribute to the amazing decades of service that George has given to his community. George's journey with Lindo began when he was just eight years old, first as a dancer and then, as a young teenager, as a musician. Since then, he has given his time generously week after week through rehearsals, performances, community events and celebrations.

His contribution has always been about service, generosity and a deep commitment to preserving Croatian music, traditions and culture for future generations. He is one of Lindo's longest serving musicians. George has done far more than just performing; he mentors young people, shares his knowledge and encourages the next generation to carry forward this important part of their heritage.

I warmly congratulate George on his remarkable 40 years of service and thank him for his outstanding contribution to the Croatian culture in Australia.
