Ms CAMPBELL (Moreton) (13:45): I've spent almost my whole adult life working on election campaigns—directing campaigns, handing out how-to-vote cards, knocking on doors and organising volunteers. But, in 2025, we saw something new. We saw something different.
In evidence presented to the electoral matters committee, what we have seen is abhorrent behaviour, what we have seen is intimidation, and what we have seen is harassment. In recent media reports, there have been allegations that the Brethren took secret money from Neo-Nazis to track, to follow and to target political figures—not just any political figures; the opponents of the Liberal Party.
Today, on the International Day of Democracy, what that means is that the coalition has serious questions to answer. What did they know, and when did they know it? Did they know about secret payments?
Did they know about undeclared third-party assistance from the Brethren? Did they know about physical threats? Australians deserve the answer.
