QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Mr CHESTER (Gippsland—Deputy Leader of the National Party) (14:42): My question is to the Prime Minister. Joanne lives in my electorate and says she was shocked to learn her private health insurance rebate would be cut, saying, 'This proposal feels like boomer bashing. I'm on a part age pension and will be unlikely to continue paying for private health insurance if the rebate is cut or removed.' The Parliamentary Budget Office forecasts that almost 1.5 million age pensioners will be impacted by Labor's policy to rip $3 billion from older Australians' private health cover.
Prime Minister, in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, why is your government making life harder for 1.5 million age pensioners, like Joanne?
