QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE: TAKE NOTE OF ANSWERS

Senator BELL (New South Wales—One Nation Whip) (15:29): I move: That the Senate take note of the answer given by the Minister representing the Minister for Home Affairs (Senator Watt) to a question without notice I asked today relating to migration. What we heard today was more deflection from a Labor government that has lost control of immigration. I asked a simple question about visa-hopping, low-quality student courses and Labor's failed migration forecasts, but we could not get a straight answer on them.

Why? It's because, on ending mass migration, the Labor Party is hopelessly divided. Ministers like Tony Burke and Jim Chalmers—through you, Deputy President—cannot agree on the direction of migration policy, and the Prime Minister simply refuses to make a call.

They will not outline a real policy forward on ending mass migration. Labor forecasts overseas migration of 260,000. That was in their budget, and yet they can't tell us what it's going to be.

When I ask a straightforward question on that, they refuse to answer. Meanwhile, Australians are paying the price through housing pressure, high rents and overloaded infrastructure. Unlike Labor, One Nation has a clear plan.

We can end the visa hopping. We can stop low-quality student visa rorts, and we can end mass migration and put Australians first. Question agreed to.
