Health Legislation Amendment (Improving Choice and Transparency for Private Health Consumers) Bill 2026

Senator McALLISTER (New South Wales—Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme) (18:49): The government will support these amendments. The proposed bill and the existing act already go some way to addressing the issue raised in the proposed amendments, but the government does support the intent of the amendments. We should be providing greater transparency around insurer and specialist pricing practices, which, indeed, is what the bill before the chamber seeks to do.
