QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Senator BELL (New South Wales—One Nation Whip) (14:42): My question goes to the Minister representing the Minister for Home Affairs, Senator Watt. Minister, the Prime Minister's handpicked economic reform expert, Professor Robert Breunig, says that One Nation's proposal to stop people visa hopping after their temporary visas expire is a good idea that 'should be implemented'.
Professor Breunig also stated: It's entirely sensible and acceptable to require overstayers to leave the country. They came under an agreement to be here temporarily and they need to honour their side of the agreement. Will the government adopt One Nation's policy and commit to ending visa hopping across all temporary visa categories and send the many thousands of people who are engaged in this unhelpful behaviour home?
