Senator LAMBIE (Tasmania) (15:57): I, and also on behalf of Senator Thorpe, move: (1) That the Senate notes that: (a) in accordance with Senate resolution 44(1), government responses to committee reports are required to be tabled within 3 months of a report being tabled; (b) the Select Committee on PFAS (per and polyfluoroalkyl substances) tabled its final report on the extent, regulation and management of PFAS in November 2025; and (c) a government response has not been tabled even though it was due by February 2026.

(2) That there be laid on the table by the Minister for the Environment and Water, by no later than midday on 30 September 2026, the outstanding government response to the final report of the Select Committee on PFAS on the extent, regulation and management of PFAS. Question agreed to.
