Ms CHANEY (Curtin) (15:05): Prime Minister, this week the leaders of the major AI developers have publicly agreed that AI is developing faster than our ability to control it. The Australian AI Safety Institute is our frontline defence against these risks to test models, support our regulators and work with international partners. We invest only $8 million a year in the institute, half of one per cent of what we invest in biosecurity.

In light of growing public concern, will you commit to increasing the funding for the AI Safety Institute?
