QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE: TAKE NOTE OF ANSWERS
Senator ROBERTS (Queensland) (15:48): I move: That the Senate take note of the answer given by the Minister for the Environment and Water (Senator Watt) to a question without notice I asked today relating to community grants. This question was about MyCentre. The Albanese Labor government is subverting grant and funding processes to promote its ideological agenda, in this case promoting Islam.
My question related to funding an Islamic terrorist-adjacent organisation, MyCentre, which runs a mosque, school, segregated swimming pool, segregated gym and matchmaking service in Melbourne's Broadmeadows. Years of grant funding to the school was tied to complying with a set of rules covering student numbers, the number of classes per year, student attendance and so on.
Students must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. I asked for proof from the minister that the $68,000 in grants were spent as the scheme requires—teaching primary and high school children Arabic as a second language. I did not get an answer, because the answer is inconvenient.
MyCentre recognises government money yet not government authority. Where are the government grants? Where are the government audits?
Where are the government checks? Where is the government evidence? (Time expired) Question agreed to.
