Ms CAMPBELL (Moreton) (13:58): It's not yet Halloween, but the ghost of treasurer past is back to haunt the opposition leader. Josh Frydenberg has been out and about all over the countryside telling anyone who will listen not only that he wants to jack up the GST but also that those sitting opposite are not up to it and spent too much last time they were in government.
That contrasts to what we've been doing at a challenging time. We've been responsible economic managers—having that at our core—getting the deficits down, finding $180 billion in savings and getting the debt trajectory down at the same time as giving people the cost-of-living relief they need. What is truly scary is that the Australian people don't know who's pulling the strings over there.
Is it the member of the opposition? Is it the member for Canning, as we've just seen? Is it Tony Abbott?
Is it Josh Frydenberg? Or, most frighteningly of all, is it Pauline Hanson?
