QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Ms SHARKIE (Mayo) (15:07): My question is to the Minister for Aged Care and Seniors. In the gallery are concerned aged-care providers. The 2.55 per cent increase on AN-ACC funding is unsustainable, is below inflation and has caused thousands of planned beds to be shelved.
We need 10,000 new aged-care beds annually. Last year, just 800 were added. Thousands of our elderly are stuck in hospitals waiting for an aged-care bed around our nation.
Minister, this is a disaster on your watch. Will you lift the AN-ACC funding to at least match inflation?
