STATEMENTS BY SENATORS

Senator GREEN (Queensland—Assistant Minister for Tourism, Assistant Minister for Pacific Island Affairs and Assistant Minister for Northern Australia) (13:28): With the small amount of time available to me before we start two-minute statements, I thought I'd pose the question to the chamber: Who is the opposition leader at the moment? Who is leading the Liberal Party at the moment?

Of course, we've got Angus Taylor, who supposedly is leading the Liberal Party, but we've got Andrew Hastie stalking from the back, and, last night, on 7.30, we had Mr Frydenberg declaring that he didn't not want to be Prime Minister one day. So clearly we've got another opposition leader out there leading the Liberal Party down the drain. We know that Mr Frydenberg was not only a terrible treasurer but also the worst possible energy minister that this country has ever had.

There were 22 energy policies under Mr Frydenberg, under Mr Taylor, and they couldn't land a single one. They couldn't land a single energy policy. Neither of these gentlemen deserves to be the prime minister of this country.

But I guess we'll never know. There might be more leaders-in-waiting for the Liberal Party. (Time expired)
