QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE: ADDITIONAL ANSWERS

Senator AYRES (New South Wales—Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science) (15:02): In question time yesterday, I took questions asked of me by Senator Pocock on notice in my capacity as the Minister for Science and the Minister for Industry and Innovation, relating to artificial intelligence. The information is as follows. The Australian government is currently working with frontier AI companies, including OpenAI, on early-access programs to understand and mitigate cyber risks.

A range of access arrangements and discussions are ongoing with these companies about the financial structures. Further questions on cybersecurity should be directed to the Minister representing the Minister for Defence.
