STATEMENTS BY MEMBERS

Mr BURNELL (Spence) (13:37): For years, South Australians have known that our state produces some of the best food and wine in the world, and now the Michelin Guide has proven it. That is a fantastic recognition of our state's world-class hospitality industry—so much recognition that if I stood here and acknowledged each business awarded by Michelin, I would run out of time.

From the vineyards of the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale to the fresh seafood of the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia has something for everyone. And let's not forget our incredible restaurants, cafes, chefs and hospitality workers, who bring the very best of our state to the table. This recognition isn't just about good food; it's about supporting local businesses, creating jobs, attracting visitors and showcasing what South Australia has to offer.

It's also a testament to our farmers, growers, winemakers and producers, who work tirelessly to put quality South Australian produce on plates across the country. We might be a smaller state, but when it comes to food and wine, we punch well above our weight. So Melbourne can keep its coffee, and Sydney can keep its harbour views—you're both just playing second best.

But for Australia's finest food, wine and hospitality, there's only one destination worth putting on the menu—that is, South Australia.
