Senator KOVACIC (New South Wales) (12:11): At the request of Senator Bragg, I move: That the Senate— (a) notes that: (i) on 12 August 2026, the Senate agreed to order for the production of documents no. 573, relating to the impact of the Government's 5% deposit scheme on lending risk, requiring the Minister representing the Treasurer to comply by midday on Friday, 14 August 2026, (ii) on 16 September 2026, the Senate agreed to a further order noting that the order had not been complied with and requiring the Minister representing the Treasurer to comply by midday on Thursday, 17 September 2026, and (iii) the order has still not been complied with; and (b) requires the Minister representing the Treasurer to attend the Senate at the start of proceedings on Thursday, 19 November 2026 to provide an explanation, of no more than 5 minutes, of the failure to comply with the order, and that: (i) any senator may move to take note of the explanation; and (ii) any such motion may be debated for no longer than 30 minutes and shall have precedence over all other business until determined, and senators may speak to the motion for not more than 5 minutes each.
