Tribune’s note

The Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Ms King, announced the completion of a new water pipeline connecting the Jervis Bay Territory to the Shoalhaven water network, marking the end of construction on a $15.8 million federal investment [TA-260409-infras-09a734948e8f:m00AMR]. The project delivers approximately 11 kilometres of new pipeline along with upgrades to supporting infrastructure at both the Vincentia and Stone Creek reservoirs, replacing an ageing water treatment plant that previously served the Territory [TA-260409-infras-09a734948e8f:m00AMR].

The result is a modern, secure drinking water supply for Territory residents — including members of the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community — and for visitors, with treated water now supplied through Shoalhaven City Council. Ms King framed the completion as a major milestone for essential infrastructure, noting that reliable water supply also strengthens the Territory's local tourism sector.

The announcement sits squarely within the government's regional infrastructure investment agenda, with this project combining elements of territory administration, local government partnership, and Indigenous community service delivery under a single capital works outcome.
