Portfolio — 10 May 2026

Tribune’s note

Minister King announced three infrastructure commitments on 10 May, with the $100 million Sydney–Canberra rail corridor package — split equally between the federal government and NSW and ACT counterparts — as the most consequential. The Clarence Town Bridge opening in Dungog Shire, jointly funded at $22.8 million, delivers immediate heavy-vehicle freight access and a pedestrian walkway to a regional community.

A $1.9 million upgrade to Carter Field at the National Hockey Centre rounds out a day defined by co-funded, staged delivery across regional transport and community infrastructure. Across all three announcements, the portfolio consistently applied joint federal–state funding as its primary delivery mechanism.
