The Acting Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Ms McBain, announced on 17 July that centre median widening works on the Bruce Highway between Dohles Rocks Road and Anzac Avenue in Brisbane's north are now complete [TA-260717-infras-dd05b4ab4d41:m00AMR]. The completion is a staging milestone: it clears the way for the next phase of the upgrade, which will deliver new northbound entry and southbound exit ramps at Dohles Rocks Road and auxiliary lanes through to Anzac Avenue, increasing corridor capacity and easing traffic for Moreton Bay communities [TA-260717-infras-dd05b4ab4d41:m00AMR].

Ms McBain framed the project within what the government describes as a record investment program to make the Bruce Highway safer and more flood-resilient, and noted that the completed works extend that investment southward into Brisbane's northern suburbs. The project is jointly funded under the standard 80:20 Commonwealth-state model, with the Crisafulli Government as the state partner.

The portfolio's pattern across recent days has been to move projects from planning commitments to on-ground delivery — the Bruce Highway milestone follows regional road announcements in Far North Queensland and Tasmania, reinforcing that delivery focus across diverse geographic corridors.
