Minister McCarthy announced the Indigenous Centre of Vocational Excellence (ICOVE), backed by up to $24 million over four years from 1 July 2026. ICOVE will be co-hosted by Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Limited and Tranby Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd, operating as a national hub connecting First Nations training organisations with industry across urban, regional and remote communities.
The portfolio positions ICOVE as a Closing the Gap instrument within the National Skills Agreement, with First Nations leadership embedded in its design and governance.
