Portfolio — 8 May 2026

Tribune’s note

Attorney-General Michelle Rowland confirmed the full civil society membership of Australia's Fourth Open Government Forum, appointing six members including Dr Mark Zirnsak as co-chair alongside Professor Emerita Anne Twomey, Professor Kimberlee Weatherall, Ravi Krishnamurthy, Clancy Moore, and Cara Varian. The Forum will lead the Fourth Open Government National Action Plan and convenes for the first time on 19 May 2026.

The appointment completes the Forum's co-governance structure — pairing the six civil society members with an equal number of government representatives, chaired on the government side by Deputy Secretary Sarah Chidgey. The announcement positions the Attorney-General's portfolio as the primary driver of Australia's Open Government Partnership commitments under the multilateral framework.
