Tribune’s note

Minister Giles announced $45 million in joint federal-state funding for Stage 2 of the Donnybrook Road upgrade in Melbourne's outer north, with $37.4 million from the Albanese Government and $7.7 million from the Allan Government. The works — a second Hume bridge, road duplication, off-ramp upgrades, and shared paths — form part of the broader $1.2 billion Australian-Victorian Road Blitz.

The announcement positions the portfolio on suburban congestion and safety investment in a high-growth corridor, with Federal Infrastructure Minister Catherine King also quoted in support.
