Tribune’s note

Senator Walsh's ministerial activity on 25 July centred on a single, substantive early childhood announcement: a three-way, $16.3 million partnership between the Albanese Government, the Malinauskas Government, and the Minderoo Foundation to build an integrated early years hub at the NACYS Child Care Centre in Davoren Park, Adelaide's northern suburbs [TA-260724-educat-2f59ffdd96af].

The hub will expand health, wellbeing, and early education services on a single co-located site next to Swallowcliffe School P–6, lifting capacity to 100 places — a net gain of 45 spots — with an expanded preschool program of up to 30 hours per week and an expected opening in early 2029. The federal contribution is $5.5 million, the South Australian Government is contributing $7.8 million, and the Minderoo Foundation is providing $3 million.

The project is the second Investment Dialogue for Australia's Children (IDAC) site to receive Commonwealth funding under the $1 billion Building Early Education Fund, and sits within a broader $100 million federal–IDAC partnership to build integrated early years services nationally [TA-260724-educat-2f59ffdd96af]. The announcement reinforces the Albanese Government's strategy of using place-based, co-located service hubs to expand early childhood access in communities with lower socioeconomic advantage.

No parliamentary record was present for this note period.
