Tribune’s note

Rick Wilson (Liberal) used a House speech on 12 May to challenge Labor's housing and tax policy on two fronts: he argued a $220 tax offset for workers is eroded by bracket creep, and warned that raising capital gains tax and removing negative gearing will push up rents and lock younger Australians out of the housing market. The speech continues a standing opposition critique of Labor's housing tax direction.
