Senator Maria Kovacic used a Senate procedural opportunity to attack the government on housing affordability and transparency. Her central charge is that the five-percent deposit guarantee scheme has already delivered price rises six times larger than the Prime Minister's own modelling forecast. She warned the upcoming budget will compound the problem, making home ownership unattainable for young Australians.
