The Minister for Education, Mr Clare, released a package of three interlocking education initiatives on 10 July 2026, each designed to reinforce civic knowledge and counter hate in Australian schools. The centrepiece is the Civics and Citizenship Education Hub — a curated collection of more than 200 resources for teachers across Years 3 to 10 — developed in partnership with the Constitution Education Fund [TA-260710-educat-81aa69a4878d].

Alongside it, the Minister launched the Social Cohesion Education Hub, which delivers an initial suite of 50 quality-assured resources to help schools address antisemitism, Islamophobia and other forms of hate; the hub was developed with the involvement of David Gonski and draws on the work of the Antisemitism Education Taskforce [TA-260710-educat-b77208aedd5a].

The three announcements operate as a deliberate portfolio pairing: the Civics and Citizenship Hub addresses democratic participation and institutional literacy, while the Social Cohesion Hub and curriculum review target the specific harms — antisemitism and Islamophobia — that the government has identified as requiring a school-based response. The curriculum review extends that logic one step further, embedding historical and values content directly into the national curriculum rather than treating it as supplementary material.
