Tribune Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Tribune services. Please read them carefully.

1. About These Terms

Tribune Analytics (ABN [to be inserted]) operates asktribune.com.au. By creating an account or using Tribune services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Definitions

  • “AI Service Providers” — third-party large language model operators (currently Anthropic) used to deliver AI-powered features
  • “Cloud Infrastructure Provider” — hosting services (currently DigitalOcean) used to operate Tribune
  • “Third-Party Service Providers” — AI Service Providers, Cloud Infrastructure Provider, and payment processors (currently Stripe)

3. Tribune Services

Tribune services refers to what is offered on www.asktribune.com.au, including:

  1. Tribune Records (however described from time to time) — a software-as-a-service product that enables users to select information, available and varied from time to time, for use in providing information to, and receiving information from, Tribune-operated or third-party-operated large language models, varied at Tribune's discretion.
  2. Other services and products made accessible from time to time.

Tribune services are currently in beta. This means:

  • Features, functions and availability may change at any time without notice
  • Errors, inaccuracies and service interruptions should be expected
  • Data, including purchased credits or stored content, may be lost or changed at any time
  • We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes, but cannot guarantee advance notice during beta

4. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Tribune may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the Civic Use Principles.

5. Your Use of Tribune

You agree not to:

  • Use Tribune services to incite violence or support prescribed terrorist organisations
  • Misrepresent AI-generated content as human-authored without disclosure
  • Attempt to access, interfere with, or disrupt Tribune's systems or infrastructure
  • Use Tribune services for any purpose that violates Australian law
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit Tribune's services or data without permission

6. AI-Generated Content

Tribune uses AI to analyse and synthesise public information. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies
  • AI-generated content is not legal, policy, or professional advice
  • You are responsible for verifying any information before relying on it
  • AI-generated content should be checked for accuracy and appropriate attribution before any use

7. Payment and Access

Some Tribune services require purchased credits. Credits are purchased in packs as advertised at the time of purchase. Purchased credits expire 6 months from the date and time of purchase. Tribune will make reasonable efforts to preserve credit balances, but cannot guarantee their availability during beta. Pricing, exchange rates and access entitlements may change at any time.

8. Refunds and Change of Mind

  1. You have 7 days from the date of any purchase to change your mind and receive a full refund, minus any payment processing fees, to your original method of payment.
  2. To request a refund, email [email protected] with your account email and purchase details.
  3. Refunds will be processed within 5 business days of the request being approved.
  4. Credits used before a refund request is made will be deducted from the refund amount at the per-credit rate of the original purchase.
  5. Nothing in this section excludes or limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

9. Privacy and Data

What we protect: Your queries, research topics, and analytical work are not shared with any third party beyond what is necessary to deliver the service.

What is excluded: Usage data, including queries and content processed in response, is provided to: (a) AI Service Providers as necessary to deliver AI-powered features; (b) Cloud Infrastructure Provider for hosting and operations; (c) payment processors for transaction processing. These providers have their own privacy policies.

Disclosure: Violation of these terms or Tribune's Civic Use Principles may result in account suspension. In serious cases, account information may be disclosed to relevant authorities as described in the Civic Use Principles.

10. Intellectual Property

Tribune's software, design, branding, and analytical methods are the property of Tribune Analytics. Public information accessed through Tribune remains in the public domain. AI-generated analysis produced for you through Tribune services may be used by you freely, subject to your responsibility for accuracy and attribution.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tribune Analytics is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Tribune services. Tribune's total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for Tribune services in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users of significant changes. Continued use of Tribune services after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
